PRIVILEGESREVOKED: How many fruit rolls did you get out of one tray? How difficult would you say it is to learn how to use the dehydrator? Be honest...I'm really busy and don't have a lot of time to invest in learning how to use a new gadget, but you've really got me thinking about getting one.

Apparently applesauce is all some people use to make them! I make my own applesauce from Fuji apples so I know they would taste great - but I plan to make my own blend of applesauce and strawberries when I start buying the local berries.
Oh! My Nesco dehydrator, even with 8 trays just isn't enough room to do all I want so hubby told me to go ahead and get the Excalibur 9 tray! It's heater/fan is located in the back so there is no hole in the center of the trays which measure 14" x 14" - it will arrive on Thursday! I'll have both of these running during strawberry season.
And today I picked up 8 lbs of organic valencia oranges for $3 at Earth Fare (coupon special good for today and tomorrow only - link in post from earlier in this blog). Orange chips are delicious! Plus for putting in sprite/7UP etc.

Nanny113, I've only seen Challenge products on the West Coast, so the cream cheese may not be available around here.

I finally got my $20 GC in the mail today from the HT/P&G deal -- this is the one that was supposed to take 2 weeks to arrive, so be on the lookout in your mail if you did that deal.

Wow those fruit rolls sound good !
I love applesause - I wonder how well that would do ??

Observant!!! I just finished making fruit roll ups with the Dole Squish Em's - apple/strawberry. They are phenomenal! Of course you can make your own pureed fruit blends too, but since I bought 11 boxes @ 50 cents each, I took advantage. Each box has 4 pouches, it took 5 pouches per tray to make them but oh are they good! My son and daughter will love these - and they're 26 and 28 LOL! I even like them - they don't stick to your teeth either like the premade ones that are not pure fruit :)

Ok, just had to share that with you!

That crock pot sounds great. I have also wanted one of the 3-pot ones. Glad you got the deal! I have not looked for the cream cheese so can't help you there. Sorry.
