Since it's just myself and hubby (occasionally son and girlfriend here for a day or two on the weekends) we both like the results a lot! In fact, even my son likes the dried fruit - and he would never pick up a piece of whole fruit (gggrrrr).
And I've added nothing to the fruit with the exception of cinnamon on the apples. No sugar, no salt etc.
I'm looking forward to making raisins too - just waiting for a good price on grapes.
What excites ME is that veggies no one else but myself enjoy, I'll be able to indulge and not have it go to waste as it's too much to eat at one time. Or fruit, like cantaloupe which I love and no one else eats! Now I can have some fresh and dehydrate the rest :) Can't wait to do tomatoes, no more canned for recipes!

It all sounds so yummy !!
Does your family like all you have 'processed" so far ??
It all has to be so healthy too since you control everything - salt, sugar ,etc.
I have heard raisins are unbelieveable !
The zucchini & squash sound great !
We eat them raw -just slice them up and snack away no seasoning , no cooking - just plain raw veggies . Good Night to ALL !

Just found your post Thomas G!
    "THOMASG APR 23, 4:02 P.M.
    I missed PR's share - I haven'tread the HT thread yet today
PR - what you dehydrating today ??
Can you do squash?? Veggie chips interest me if low sodium
Have you done strawberries yet ?? REVIEWS ! REVIEWS ! we want reviews ! lol Did you see the hint at Amazon about plastic canvas sheets working in the dehydrator ?? was a review on the model you got" - Ok, I have dehydrated with great success and great tasting results - pineapple, apples, bananas, mango, onion, broccoli, mixed veggies. I haven't bought strawberries yet, I'm waiting for the local ones and then it will be strawberry heaven! Just bought squash and zucchini tonight and will be doing those ultra thin for snacking AND recipes. You can add seasonings before dehydrating too, which I've added cinnamon to the apples - oh YUM! Crispy and delicious and all of it can be rehydrated for other uses too :) Next up - dog treats for the beagle :)

There are new SavingStar offers - $5 on a host of Heinz products and $5 off a host of OreIda frozen potato products too. Don't know if this is new, but noticed a $1.00 on Birds Eye Recipe Ready frozen veggies too.

I found another delicious organic deal at HT today (not the greatest price, since the cheese wasn't on sale) but with the $1 off Q (doubled) it was $3 for Organic Valley American Cheese (12 slices). Just tried some, and it is very good! I'm a sucker for American Cheese, and this will be fantastic on grilled cheese :-)

Interesting Harris Teeter story regarding the Charlotte market (for now). This is what Kroger also did just before they stopped doubling coupons last May.
