Check with your favorite farm stand or the farmers market - most are very happy to work with you ( better than throwing it away ) .
I asked at the local produce stands about 3or 4 years ago - nice young man went and picked green beans and tomatoes and packed them for all his customersthat night after closing the stand and he delivered them the next day . He gave me phone numbers ( his and the farms) if I needed more- I called and they asked if I wanted on the call list and and I said YES !
They have called me every year since for tomatoes , beans, & sometimes corn ( I haven't needed any of that for freezing in a couple of years ).

I love the popsicle idea and all the creative varieties. Raesmom, I can just imagine Rae making popsicles!!

Losltp, how do you get on the call list for tomatoes, etc.? I would love to get on a list like that.

    another popsicle idea
fresh fruit chopped up( strawberries , peaches, blueberries) - let "juice " then freeze - all natural fresh fruit pops !
I do this in the 1/2 cup gladware containers for lunch boxes for young & old .
Keeps stuff cool and is still chilled but thawing at lunch ( great for breakfast too) .
frozen applesauce is not bad either-

losltp- wow, what a great benefit from your employer! It's not often that employers still go out of their way like that... but, my husband got a good one too, today! A very nice gift card for awesome customer service this month- YAY! And good tip on the chocolate milk pops :-) Let us know what you try w/the boxes.

Raesmom- that sounds amazing w/the coconut milk! So healthy with the fruit- love it!!!

Thomas G- I'm with you on pudding pops. I'm almost thinking of doing some butterscotch pudding pops with chocolate chips (that was my fav. growing up- well, as just pudding).

    RFB & Faye
Thank you for your comments and the link.

My husband's employer is offering 10 farms to choose from this year at discount . I like the ability to make my own box -

We will do more research before we decide - at least there is no contract you are stuck with all season.

I am on the call list at local farms for cases of tomatoes, green beans & corn for canning & freezing .
Thank You again for your input !
