Have a question that doesn't fit into any of the other threads? Here's the place to ask it.

When posting about deals you have read on other blogs: Please don't copy and paste work from other people's coupon blogs directly on to this blog. It's fine to rephrase the information and then just include something like: "Thanks to xyz.com for the info". We don't want to have copyright issues here on the blog because someone copied and pasted deals from another blogger.  Thanks for your help with this!

Kmm, I seem to recall that the last time I bought turkey hill ice cream that it had a plastic band around the outside, I think. You may want to call Turkey Hill tomorrow to see if it should be sealed.

juanitasmith2: I second what everyone else has said to include checking w/your insurance agent b/4 purchasing any vehicle b/c you will definitely want to know how much more (sometimes less, but not nearly as often)the vehicle is going to cost you especially if you switch one vehicle on your policy w/another one. I am a licensed NC & VA agent and I cannot count on 1 hand how many times folks "got surprised" by the insurance cost, but unfortunately, had already purchased the vehicle. Let us know how your purchase turns out.

I went to food lion tonight to get the Turkey Hill ice cream & I noticed that the ice cream wasn't sealed. Anyone know why not? Makes me wonder if its safe to eat. I usually eat Bryers & it's always sealed. Just curious!

jdouglas - very good advice. Here is a bit more info on the VIN report from Clark Howard:

There are multiple sites for checking the vehicle history report from the link Clark offers including carfax, experian and more.

jdouglas - I hope you are both feeling better!

One other thought I just had about investigating a used car -- isn't there a website or something where you can enter the VIN number of the car you're considering to get more of its history? I know I've seen it somewhere, just can't think of it at the moment.

heremeaj and ddalmas, thanks for all the great advice and tips about buying a used car. Important info for all of us who may be in the market for buying or selling a used car.

juanitasmith2: I heartily second what heremeaj says about beginning a used car search on craigslist, and also about taking one you're interested in to your own mechanic for a pre-purchase inspection. Even if you end up doing this for multiple cars, we have found it to be money well spent, so that we know just what we would be buying and what might need immediate repair, which can help in negotiating a sale price. There are lots of used vehicles for sale out there, so if you already have an idea of what make/model and price range you're interested in, that will make the search process more manageable. Even if the ad provides some of this info, I like to ask the seller by phone a) why they are selling, b) if the vehicle has any known problems, mechanically or cosmetically, c) if it's ever been in an accident, and d) if the owner has any of the service records. I also run a kbb.com value to have a ballpark idea what price that site says such a vehicle might be worth. Happy Shopping!

If you do Vocalpoint, I just got an email to get a coupon for Iams So Good Dogfood. Their coupons usually are for free product or pay a good bit of the cost.
