Posted April 27, 2013

Found a deal this weekend? Here's the place to share it!

Have a question that doesn't fit into any of the other threads? Here's the place to ask it.

I have a full day at the Southern Women's Show on Saturday and a partial day on Sunday so you won't hear much from me on the blog this weekend.

Please post any great deals you find!

From what I have been told, for some reason the new bar codes do not double when scanned by the cashier at UScan. SO, the UScan cashier has to go through each coupon and separate out the coupons with the new barcode and then use a CALCULATOR to find out how much to take off for those coupons. Way too much room for human error for me! So I don't use UScan with coupons, but they should not have told you that you couldn't, sounds like they were being lazy.

ncveteranswife, I've been to the Wilson HT a couple of times. Each time I got some kind of cr*p about something, and after the last time, decided I was done.

Are you close enough to the new HT coming in Clayton/Flowers? I am waiting anxiously for them to hurry up and open, and am praying that the employees there are not trained by the Wilson ummm... staff. I put that very diplomatically, didn't I? ;)

hollyh515: The register did ask if we had coupons & I pressed the "yes" button & when I did, the register told me to give my coupons to the associate. I could not scan them myself, not sure why. It seems this HT has some issues with their self-checkout registers.

hollyh515 & bjluckeey: Thanks. I thought we could use coupons at the self-checkout. I plan to contact HT Corporate tomorrow regarding the situation with Ronnie. I did call HT in Wilson when I got home and let the CS lady know what happened and she stated she would give a message to the store manager.

I went to Harris Teeter on 401 tonight and used 6 coupons in the self checkout with no problem. The coupons with only the new barcode do not scan. They usually need to be override by a manager. You need to complain to the store about this.

ncveteranswife, I have never heard that. I use HT self check out all the time with coupons. If they didn't let you then the cash register would not ask you if you had coupons or not. The problem that I find is that it takes longer because they do not automatically scan the coupons without first reading if they say do not double, which is something cashiers working the registers do not do. You may want to email corporate about that, he needs to be informed of the coupon policy :)

My husband & I went to the Wilson HT tonight & there were only 2 lanes open for checkout, so we decided to go to the self-checkout w/coupons. Well, we did not know you could not use coupons at the self-checkout & needless to say, we were told by Ronnie, a checkout employee that "FYI, we were not to go thru the self-checkout again w/any coupons when we came into the store in the future"!! Luckily for him, I was having a good day b/c I would have walked out of the store w/my husband in tow & left him w/the food & my coupons!! I told him next time I came into the HT, they better have signs posted at the self-checkout if there are certain things they want customers to do b/c I was a paying customer!!!

gator1- don't know if you have a Facebook acct. or not. But if you do go to Johnston County Yard Sale. I saw a bunch of formulas, baby clothes and toys on there for cheap and I want to say some of the formulas were listed as free!

gator1 ~ just want to let you know that you can use both a MQ and one of those similac checks at the same time for one product. The cashiers have to run the checks as a "check" so they can be stacked for even more savings. I'll keep my eyes peeled for any that I may get
