I know in the past folk have asked about the best place to purchase ink jet or toner cartridges for their printer. I wanted to throw out a low cost alternative that I was able to take advantage of this past week - Craigslist.

I just happened to find someone on Craigslist who had purchased the wrong inkjet cartridge for their printer, and instead of returning it (they had already opened the package), decided to sell it on Craigslist for just $5.00.)

I met up with the seller at a mutually agreeable public location (to be safe), and ended up with what is basically a new inkjet cartridge for just $5.00...can't beat that! :)

At both HT and LF this past week, I've seen displays of coupon booklets for Pepsi products next to their 18 pack canned drinks. The booklet includes a $2 off two 18 packs, which when doubled at HT this week makes canned Pepsi products the equivalent of $2.33 per 12 pack...not bad!

I wanted to let everyone know and update. I had reported the manager that let the customers split the order on friday to use more than 20 coupons. The manager of the Cameron Village location called and apologized for what happened. I told him he didnt need to do that and that I just felt that HT was being taken advantage of and the system of being abused. I told him I didnt need an apology just wanted them to be aware of it. He said they pulled the store film to try to locate the incident but had a hard time doing do. I didnt want to push the issue and continue to tell date, time etc. He told me they all had a meeting in management to make sure they were on the same page and that they are now. I thought it was great he called and I really apperciate it. HT is great!

Thanks jdouglas13. I was inquiring about making ham steaks. I will have to look at that.

Someone (sorry I can't remember your name!) was posting the other day about how to use ham steaks... there is a great recipe for cheesy scalloped potatoes with ham over at the Go Ask Mom blog. It will definitely be appearing on the menu, if I remember, this week! ;)

I have a terrible habit of not reading through ALL the responses to the post before I respond, so thanks so much to all the other great folks here trying to help me with the Stretch-Tite plastic wrap! :)

Thanks, ddalmas! HT used to have it, and one day it just disappeared. I wondered about Walmart, too, because the last time I bought it, I know I was at a store I don't shop in often. I appreciate you saving me the trip. :)

I have noticed the price diffences too - at many stores ( Food Lion does it only blocks apart !). It was such a huge difference for me even with % off coupons twice I have told a store to keep the stuff I was going to stop at another store on my way home ( the stores were HT & CVS !) and I did

losltp - as odd as it may sound, I don't believe WalMart or Target match prices within their own chains, believe it or not. Crazy, huh? (Since they both will match prices with their competitors.)

I've noticed the same thing as you have (with both chains,) and inquired as to whether they would match a lower price from one of their other stores, and they said no each time I've asked.

Thanks Nancy for cataloupe ripeness tip !I will try that. I love them too - glad too 'cause it is one of few fruits I can have and not raise my blood sugar excessively . A farmer that grew cantaloupe told me years ago the weight balance was how to tell if ripe - if even from one end to other it was ready to eat if heavier at one end - not ripe . I wonder if it matters what type of melon and where it is grown ? ...
