Found a deal today? Here's the place to share it!

Have a question that doesn't fit into any of the other threads? Here's the place to ask it.

Well, according to the CVS Minute Clinic PA that I saw on Wednesday night, I have strep throat. :-(

The good news is that the PA who diagnosed me, Suzanne, in the 40/42 CVS was wonderful, kind, fast and professional! I highly recommend her!

So, if you don't hear from me quite as much today, you know why. I'll be resting and drinking plenty of fluids like a good little patient.

Have a good day, everyone!

holly515 - have you considered 'Hoppin John? Black eyed peas, onion, bell peppers, ham (cubed), spices. I made it for New Year's Day & used the same ham that you have. It was delicious!

chipper4800 - when K-Mart doesn't attach a minimum purchase requirement for these points/dollars, it's basically like getting $3.00 worth of merchandise for free if you're a Shop My Way Rewards member.

Although I don't like K-Mart very much, I love their MyGofer service they offer for store pick-up. I've used it before when they awarded me a few dollars of free points - and sometimes you can even find items that will also give you additional points to your account when you purchase them (when you're a Shop Your Way Rewards Member.)

For example, they've got Suave Professionals Vibrant Shine Spray for $2.99 online (free with the $3.00 points/dollars they're offering) - and then it says Shop Your Way Rewards members earn 33 Points if they purchase this item.

You place the order online, select the store pick-up/MyGofer option, select the store you want to pick your order up from, and they e-mail you when it's ready for pick-up (usually within 24 hrs.) and have it ready & waiting for you

Thanks Nancy, I appreciate it. I like to use the blueberries for pancakes and this would be a good deal with 3 coupons and the %5.00 back. Now all I have to do is make sure I have room in the freezer!

" Does anyone know if that's before coupons or after?"

That's before coupons as Saving Star has no way of knowing what coupons you may have used to bring down the price of those items since coupons are not labelled according to product :)

Thanks to everyone for suggestions on how to use the ham. I couldn't pass it up the last time we had super doubles, but my husband does not care for "plain" ham with sides. Excellent ideas!! Thanks!

holly, our resident chef, Nakabi, has lots of good ideas. If you want it just plain, as ncveteranswife mentioned, you can also just heat it up briefly in a frying pan with a little butter. Brown it a bit on each side.

When the big hams go on sale, I usually get one and cut it up in portions for the freezer. It's a great value that way, because I can easily get 8 meals from one ham. Another thing I like to do when I need a little ham for something is go to the deli and ask for two 1/4 inch thick slices. It's about half a pound, and is usually plenty for whatever concoction I'm dreaming up! :)

The saving star offer says spend $14.00 for Dole frozen fruit get $5.00 back. Does anyone know if that's before coupons or after?

Help please! It seems that HT is no longer carrying my fave plastic wrap, Stretch-Tite. It comes in a yellow and blue box. Has anyone seen it in any of the stores? I can order it online, but it is crazy expensive that way.
