I'm not Nancy, but I bought a Food Saver at BJ's a little more than a year ago and I love it! I've used it for re-packaging meats into portion sizes that we need most often, and also for freezing fresh picked berries last summer. Mine came with some canisters which I've used for vacuum sealing cookies to stay just-baked-fresh for Christmas. I saved this tip that Nancy posted for buying less expensive replacement rolls: "Oh, and in the future when you need bags, don't buy the Food Saver brand, I found a very inexpensive source online for high quality bags - http://www.agribags.com/Pro_2300_Bags.html"

juanitasmith2-thanks! We are very excited. :-)

sandtran36-you're right. It was Nancy that mentioned it and it reminded me that I wanted to look into getting one. You know you have baby brain when you need to be reminded about everything...

wildfrenchrose-I would love any labels or box tops you have! I'll happily send you SASE's! My e-mail is sarahoconnor@me.com. Thank you so, so much!

smolder13, I haven't used a vacuum food saver myself but am curious. I know Nancy posts quite a bit about using one. Maybe she could give us some tips on start up costs, brands, refill rolls, etc? Pretty please, Ms. Nancy, if you catch this? Thanks a bunch!

Smolder13~congrats on the upcoming new baby!!!

juanitasmith, they said it is the one on New Bern.

Sorry Faye just went back and read what wral posted and they say its going to be on New Bern ave opening next month....guess its not too far away :) im thankful for anything in this area!!

Packy-I agree that it is super easy to just freeze stuff in freezer bags, and that is what I have been doing. But the reason I am considering a food saver is because I want to do a lot of batch cooking and freezing before the new baby arrives and I think the vacuum sealing will help me keep things in the freezer longer (and hopefully get me through those first few really rough months).

Faye WRAL is reporting that Carlie C's IGA is opening in place of one of the krogers that closed yesterday. Do we know which location it will be. I live literally around the corner from the one that closed on MLK and it was my go to spot if I forgot something I needed (like a can of diced tomatoes when making chili, happens a lot lol)and I was just thinking, where will I go now??? Hope its the MLK location that would be GREAT!!!!!Thanks

Thanks, Diane for those as well! :)

Today Only - Red Lobster is offering 45 shrimp for $11.99 to celebrate their 45th anniversary.

Go to Red Lobster's Facebook page to claim an offer for 45 Shrimp for just $11.99, valid today, 1/18 only. (You must present your offer at the beginning of the meal to get this deal.) Make sure to call your local restaurant to verify that they are participating in this promotion.

(Thanks hip2ssve.com!)

DianeNC, those are both great sources also. I haven't checked out AFullCup before so I will look into that one.

I think the other stores are missing out also. I like HT and am really starting to like Target a lot also.

Packy - You were asking Scout about what other websites they were checking out, hope you don't mind my sharing the ones I use. Like yourself, this blog is my main/"go to" blog - it's what got me started couponing in the first place! :) In addition, the two I check on a daily basis are hip2save.com (which covers a little bit of everything!) and TotallyTarget.com (which, of course, is specific to Target). I also check out AFullCup.com once in a while.

About Kroger - I agree with smolder that it stinks that they don't allow stacking of any types of coupons with their electronic ones. (Food Lion not only doesn't either, but they don't even double coupons at all, which I can't understand since so many of their competitors in this area do.)

Although I find both Kroger and Food Lion cheaper than HT, since they don't allow the coupon stacking, most times I can get things cheaper by going to HT and stacking my coupons with their digital ones. I really think Kroger and FL are missing the boat.

I see what you're saying. :)

I think I will still get one, some coupons I don't need more then one or two of. Depends on what the Sunday only is at Harris Teeter since I wouldn't be able to get the smartsource ones until Monday.

Nakabi, I've been wanting to figure it out all (clipping services) for a while but I wanted to get my feet wet with basic couponing first. I'm doing great with that (with Faye's help of course) so I wanted to figure out how all of this worked now. :)

smolder, I've been wondering all of that, too. It's just sooo convenient to put everything in freezer bags though.

I'm considering getting a Food Saver vacuum sealer and was wondering what kind others have and how they like them. Do you feel it is worth the money and cost of the replacement bag/rolls? And what is a reasonable price for the sealer as well as the bags and where can you get them from? TIA. :-)

with all this talk about coupon services, I'm going to have to check some of them out; thank you nancy, faye, scout, and packy for the info :)

Oh, I see what you're saying. So, will you still buy papers for the inserts or just use this?

What I did this week was order on Wednesday from the stock they had once I knew what was going to be on sale and then again this morning when the coupons from this Sunday would be available. My kids love those Chips Ahoy cookies that are B1G1 this week and I already used my $1/2 Nabisco a couple weeks ago during super doubles for the 100 calorie packs and Belavita. The service had 0.75/2 so they will double and I should have them today!

I have a question.... when do you (the ones that use clipping services) order the coupons so you can take advantage of the sales?

Glad people are talking about coupon clipping services today. I haven't tried that yet and forgot that it was even an option. I'll definitely be looking into it now!

There is a SB code worth 4 Swagbucks on their Facebook page good until 3:00:

https://www.facebook.com/swagbucks

Scoutmom, I did notice the different amounts...like the ones for the Red Barron pizza. I decided on the .50/1 so it would double as the $1/2 would not. And I also was paying attention to the expiration dates. Like I ordered 10 of the crockpot liners as they don't expire until sometime March. I pulled out my last liner this morning. :(

*klip2save :)

Scoutmom, I JUST purchased coupons for the FIRST time on lip2save. I REALLY like that there are no limits! Thanks or that tip and the websites that you and Nancy posted. :) I'm one of those when I do something I becomes an obsession and I'm obsessed with finding out all the information I can. lol

Packy, I believe it was your post questioning the clipping services that got me thinking to use them. My family uses a lot of some items and it would be cost prohibitive for me to buy all those papers just for the coupons and since I work full time I can't get to the swaps. When ordering I have been mindful of expiration dates as to how many to get. For instance my kids love those Dole Fruit Crisps that are on sale at HT until the 22nd. There was a coupon for 0.50/1 making the pack of two 1.29 and they will store just fine. So the coupon doesn't expire until 3/31, I got twelve of them. Sometimes you can find different values of coupons. For instance, this past week st klip2save they had the refrigerated jell-o coupons for $1.00/2 and $0.80/2 (which would double at HT) so I had to make a choice on which to get.

I have boxtops for education, bonus boxtops for education, and labels for education is anyone wants to send me a SASE for them...

I like hotcouponworld.com a lot, I also check out southernsavers.com and mojosavings.com. I also really like the klip2save coupon clipping site. They post redplum on Wednesday and Smartsource on Friday morning for the following week. There is no minimum you have to order, I haven't seen limits on any and shipping is $1 an order. I ordered this morning and will have them on Monday's mail. I have been using my paypal money from ibotta (it finally works) and savingstar to buy them.

For a good site to check on all things grocery/drug store, check out hotcouponworld.com too - they're pretty quick to post deals since there are so many members all over the states. I find out things like the coke double points deals through emails because I'm "following" certain threads there and get emails whenever anyone posts on those threads - easy to keep up on certain things for me.

I did see on that site where you can get a free lotion from Bath and Body on Facebook. I got an email where I can take it into B&B to redeem the free lotion. Good till 1/20

I had asked a while back if anyone really used these services now I know. :)

Scout, what other sites are you checking out if you don't mind my asking? This blog is my go to for everything...I couldn't tell you how many times I check it out every day but it's nice to just check out other places as well. :)

Thanks Faye, I will have to check them out. I have been using klip2save.com this past week and have been really pleased with them so far.

Scoutmom - I use www.thecouponclippers.com and have for years. She posts the new coupons on Friday evenings and you can order them once they are posted.

Packy~yes the krazy coupon lady is regional to the west coast only, i read it in her site a while agi. I know she is based out of California but i occasionally still check her site for Target and Walmart deals.

I went to Walmart and used my DiGornio pizza coupon - B2G1. I got 3 pizzas for $9.00!! What a great deal!! (The DiGornio pizzas were $5.59 at FL).

4oz Glade jar candles on sale at Lowes Foods for .99. Use the $2/2 coupon from Sunday's paper and and score free candles.

Packy, I look in on her from time to time but there are a couple other sites I go to more frequently.

Does anyone use a clipping service? I started last week using one and have been really pleased. They post the coupons before they come out in the paper (for instance today since it is Smartsource) and I can order them and I get them on Monday. So unless I need it for a Sunday only I don't have to get multiple papers.

Thanks Nancy for the tip on double diet coke points! I have about 10 boxes. I'll have to go open them all up :)

Does anyone follow "the krazy coupon lady"? I will from time to time and there are some amazing deals...but again, I don't know if it's regional? Anyone??

I am with you smolder13, I love my HT.

Kroger allowed stacking of ecoupons and manufacturer's coupons for a while before they stopped. Honestly, they lost a lot of my business because of that. I really wish they would allow it again. But, since they don't, I go to my wonderful HT who does!

I just got an insert from the small town paper in town and there were 2 Red Barron coupons. $1/2 and .50/1. Will go great with sales on these.

Kroger does not allow stacking and they only double up to 0.50 face value. So I have a tendency to not load anything up to that amount on my card unless I don't have a paper coupon. Digital takes precedence over paper there.

@ Diane - Shucks about the Kroger stacking policy - but it is still a good deal wiith the online b1g1 and the current sale

I got my all you magazine with my coke reward points and I believe it was 4-6 weeks when my first issue arrived.

smolder13 - yes, for some reason, it took several months for my subscription to start! :(

kat08858 - I could be wrong, but I don't believe Kroger (or Food Lion) allow you to use manufacturer coupons along with their digital ones, sadly.

Speaking of Kroger - if anyone here won any dollar amounts that were added to their Kroger Plus card during their online game recently, it looks like those amounts expire tomorrow (1/19), so make sure to use them! :)

In case this has not been mentioned, double point on 12 pack coke products that are low or zero calorie on mycokerewards through the 19th! Normally 10 points earns you 20 :)

I subscribed to All You magazine around the middle of November and still have not received my first issue of the magazine. Can anyone confirm if their intial magazines took this long to arrive after starting the subscription?
