Hi everyone...when is the next coupon swap? I live n west raleigh...

It was watchhill girl who wanted the Nicorette coupon. If she approves it, I can give you her address.

I'd love the Boca coupon but hold onto it until we see each other again so you don't have to mail it. I think it's good through March. Thanks for offering! :-)

Faye, do you want the Boca coupon that came in today's paper? Also, someone was also interested in the $10 Nicorette coupon. Watchhillgirl, was it you? I'd be glad to send it to you.

thomas - I really don't understand your beef with HT. They make it very clear what they do and do not double in their coupon policy online and I never have issues with them. You are the first person I have seen posting on the blog in 3 years about contacting the AG and fraud regarding HT. What coupon(s) exactly did they refuse to double and maybe we can help you understand what happened. If there was an error on the cashier's part, then call customer service and they will make it right. HT is great about that.

As to the not after 10pm and before 7am with rainchecks, perhaps because I shop at a HT that always has a cashier multi-tasking as cashier/CS and USCAN in the early mornings, I've never run across the issue of not being able to get a raincheck.

But I'll have to keep that in mind for the future in case the situation is different, thank you!

"Doubling coupons is a corporate policy, NOT the company issuing the coupon. HT is falsely advetising that they double coupons up to 2.00. At the very least they should tell you at the point of sale what does not doble and allow you to not buy." - thomas

Yes, doubling is the store policy but that still does not mean the store is responsible for which coupons will/will not double, that is controlled by the manufacturer in the way they code their coupons, so I see it as still a consumer requirement to check the coupons first.

I'm sorry you have such a bad feeling about how you feel corporations (including HT) is out to get you. Perhaps couponing isn't for you?

"The CSM came to the desk and informed me that the CSM leaves at 10 pm and so I will not typically be able to get rain checks after 10 pm."

FYI, I have a close family member who works customer service for HT. It is HT's policy that there is no overnight coverage (10 pm to 7 am) for CS, and CS or managers are the ones authorized to write rainchecks, issue refunds, fix ZVR's, etc. Other than the stock crew they pretty much have one cashier working through the night.

Does anyone need a 2013 calendar? I have 5 I hate to throw out. I will mail to anyone on the blog that request one if you will send your address to: ncveteranswife@gmail.com

Doubling coupons is a corporate policy, NOT the company issuing the coupon. HT is falsely advetising that they double coupons up to 2.00. At the very least they should tell you at the point of sale what does not doble and allow you to not buy. As far as the "do not double" I have never had problems at Kroger or anywhere else that was doubling including HT. This is false advertising and you need to email corporate HT. As far as a manager doing the rainchecks, that again is a corporate tool to favor the corporation and shaft the consumer. These policies are not local (usually) and are established at the highest level of the corporation. It is the corporate bottom line enhancement, not the consumer that matters. They got to get you in the door to make money, then all these little rules come into play. You must be heard locally and at corporate and at the AG's office. I have seen many anti-consumer policies changed by consumer action.

lots of new evic coupons this morning

Thanks Nancy and LAXMom12. I thought she may have said that because she had to help me when she was trying to flirt with one of the customers in the store. If anyone hears anything that this is part of the policy please let me know. The item I was trying to get a rain check for was the lysol wipes so I had to get the rain check yesterday since it was EVIC.

hhhmmm, on the 'no manager on duty' for not giving rainchecks. At the HT on Sunset Lake & Holly Springs Rd, I've never been in there when there was not a person who could write rainchecks :( Then again, my favorite cashier, Bonita is almost always there first shift, especially during a coupon event week and she acts primarily as a cashier but also covers the CS desk. But so many cover that CS desk it doesn't seem to be an issue at all.

Maybe it's a new policy only certain people can write rainchecks now?

pss3 - Sherry Thomas, Home Delivery Mgr for Wake County 919-836-5954. And if Wake is not what you need, I would still call her and ask her to give you the contact person for your area. Hope this helps you!

holly - I had that happen before 7 am ... was told the same thing because the managers are not there during the overnight hours and they have to do the rain checks. I couldn't even get a refund for a missed ZVR before 7 am because no manager.

Nancy do you still have the number for the N &O delivery coordinator? I am having issues with my delivery person again and would like to speak to someone directly instead of the automated system that never resolves anything. Thanks!

Thanks Faye, for the confirmation on the Schubert's Hawaiian rolls. I'll check in another HT if I get a chance.

triplettk: When I'm in HT's Express Lane, after searching for a particular item and the results are displayed, just above the list of items I see a "View" option with two icons. Try clicking on the image that looks like lines on a square of paper (rather than the one that looks like a 4 paned window) to get the sale prices to show up.

"The CSM came to the desk and informed me that the CSM leaves at 10 pm and so I will not typically be able to get rain checks after 10 pm."

I have NEVER heard of that or even had that problem before! That makes no sense at all to me. If they are out, they give rainchecks, that's the policy.

I'm thinking someone was being lazy perhaps??? Or, that store mgr knew restocking would take place overnight on items that are on special etc. But still, I would talk to the store manager directly about it next time you're there, something sounds strange about that!

scoutmom - as long as they don't say do not double or not subject to doubling, when scanned they will double during HT SD's. Even with the new bar coding, as long as it does not state it's not subject to doubling, it will :)

The old bar codes on coupons (some still have it or have both old and new bar codes) were easier to know at first glance if they would because the code began with a "5" or a "9" and anything that begins with a "5" WILL double when scanned, even if the coupon said do not double, HT computers are programmed to double all coupons with the "5" designation.

The new bar codes already contain all the information for the check out computers to either double or not, and that is why it is harder to deal with those as consumers, unless we read the fine print of the coupon, we won't see it so readily.

Those new bar codes do a lot of the work for the cashiers/stores by containing all the particulars, size/quantity required to be valid etc.

I have a question. I still have some tearpad coupons from the penguin. Do they double for super doubles? I cannot see anywhere on them that says they don't. Specifically the TGIF ones.

Tonight at 10:30 I went to HT to get the Lysol wipes. They were completely out, so I went to the customer service desk to request a rain check. The CSM came to the desk and informed me that the CSM leaves at 10 pm and so I will not typically be able to get rain checks after 10 pm. Is this true or a new policy for HT or just for this store? I have had cashiers provide me with rain checks before. She said she would provide me with a rain check this time since she was still there.

triplettk......click on the individual item and the sale price comes up.

tapdiva2003: I was at FL today and was talking to the manager and he said that they aren't allowing that coupon anymore based on an email that was sent out. I was also told at HT by the manager that they may no longer accept the FL coupons that get emailed to us. He did take the ones I had though which was nice of him.

Does anyone know how to get HT express lane to show sale prices?

Yes - they are in the freezer section with the other rolls (at the 401/ten ten store at least), ddalmas. I bought the frozen Hawaiian rolls and the frozen mini loaves on Wednesday. They are BOGO with the coupon = great deal!

Great job on your HT totals, scoutmom and gmjaime! I am looking forward to doing my second trip of this event tomorrow in Cary.

Are the Sister Schubert's Hawaiian rolls in the frozen section with their other breads? I saw a price tag for the pretzel rolls there, but not the Hawaiian rolls.

I was curious so I added my three trips to HT up (I really need a freezer) and OOP was $59.63 and the total was $299.71! That is 19.9%. There are some things I still need to get but am waiting on tomorrows coupons to come out.

Does anyone know when the Harris Teeter in Goldsboro is scheduled to open?

Three trips to HT for SD...OOP $59 and saved $175 ... still have a few items I want that were out so will check tomorrow when I go in for eggs or ask for rainchecks.

readingtou, I usually grab a paper or two when I am in wilson on a saturday too. They might be a little different from the N&O sometimes, but today's really helped in my shopping trip. It was nice to have those added coupons!!

I get the coupon inserts in our local Wilson times on Saturday. They are usually the same as the Sunday N&O but sometimes there are more on Sunday and occasionally the values are different. Since they don't publish a Sunday paper we get all the sales fliers and coupons on Saturday.

My latest trip to HT. Got a few items I needed without coupons but still did well. 2 Lysol Wipes, 2 30 oz jars Kraft Mayo, 2 Huggies Wipes, 2 Cans Hormel Chicken, 2 Dove Chocolate Bars, 2 Nabisco 100s/Snackwells, 1 Muellers Wide Noodles (having swedish meatballs with the classico alfredo and the cooked perfect meatballs I got earlier), 3 Uncle Bens Rice (I wanted 6 but the shelves were almost empty), 2 Cheese Biscuit Mix, 1 case HT water, 1 Gallon HT water, 1 Chocolate Chip Eggo, 2 Lean Cuisine, 1 Schubert Hawaiian Rolls, 2 Gorton Fish, 2 Grilled Tyson Chicken Strips, 1 Box Kellogs Cereal. Total $94.40, OOP was $18.08 (19.15%) for a savings of $76.32!

Also went to Kroger to spend the $16 I won so far. Spent an additional $7.94 (I didn't realize that they only allowed 1 $5 off 5 per order). But I got 2 18 pack cans of soda, 2 6 packs of diet pepsi for me, 4 Old Spice deoderents, 2 Scope mouthwash and 4 Reach Toothbrushes (they are on sale for 99 cents but not ringing up that way).

Walmart in Fuquay has Christmas items 75% off.

I finally got to go to HT for super doubles today. (We don't have a HT in Goldsboro, but will later this year, Yeah!) So I went to the one in Wilson, NC. I got almost everything I wanted. The shelves were stocked, and they were stocking while I was there. The only thing I didn't get was the smithfield ham slice. Other than that, I used rainchecks on the armour meatballs (only paid .50 a bag!), ziplock freezer bags (.80 per box), Vanity Fair napkins (free after coupon), 12 roll Angel soft TP (only $2.77 each). I love using my rain checks on super doubles! I LOVE HT!!!

Had to go to HT today for the great deal on the Lysol wipes (had a 50/2 coupon so my evic special cost me .97/2)! But while there I noticed a couple of the Adele chicken sausage packages with yellow markdown stickers BUT also a peelie for $3 in free eggs with purchase of two packages of the sausages.

I use those sausages cut up in the breakfast/lunch wraps I make in batch cooking (usually make 24 at a time and vacuum seal two to a package for the freezer) so I got the 2 1/2 doz HT large eggs for 97 cents after the peelie coupon!! Sweet!

readingtou, I only get the Sunday N&O. Do you usually get coupon inserts in the Saturday and the Sunday paper or was this an exception?

Skillet sauce-$2.99 less $.75 zvr, 3 Slow Kettle soups-$3.00 X 3 less $1.00 zvr, less $2.00 coupon doubled =$6.24 or $1.56 each. Not sure if that is a great deal or not but it seemed like it when I saw the $2.00 coupon, lol.

Harris Teeter Super Doubles-HURRY! coupons.com zipcode 29681...Campbell's coupon $2.00 off of (4) select Campbell's products: Go Soup, Slow Kettle, Skillet sauces, Gourmet Bisque Soups, Flavor Boost, V8 Fusion plus energy- 6 pack, V 8 fusion kids juice box 8 pack.) I have several Harris Teeter zvrs for these as well...

I used a FL 2.50/25.00 on Thursday at HT- no questions asked. They had no problem taking it.

Was just at the Harris teeter in Cameron Village and I had one of those Food Lion coupons that says 2.50 off of purchase of $25. I have used these many times before but a manager told me that he just got an email about not taking those anymore. She ended up taking it because I got a little flustered. Has anyone else heard about this??

Got 5 coupon inserts in my Saturday paper. Some great deals for super doubles. Made one run to HT this morning using my new coupons! Used $1/2 muellers wheat pasta (free), Hershey simple pleasure $1.50/1 (free), keebler right bites$1/2 , Jimmy Dean Delites $2/1 (free), Nabisco $1/2 used on belvita, finish $2.15/1. Also some special k coupons but I didn't use those today.

My first trip to SD's (got in late Tues PM from Tennessee, so NO WAY for me Wed AM LOL!)

For those of you that got the Friday EVIC $1.49/lb Boston B*tt deal, Teeter's system is ringing it up at the regular price (a glitch they know about), so keep an eye on it, and they'll adjust it for you - no worries :) This special worked well w/ the last 10/40 LF mailer q I had!

Nancy, thanks for the reminder about the deli chix breasts $1.99/lb...great filler item to get to my amount to use the 10/40 q!! Fajitas, anyone?

Redplum Deals from the midweek mailer that pair well w/ SD's (there are probably more, but these are what I caught)...Met RX Bars - 2 FREE after 2/2 q, Pure Protein Bars .25 ea after 1/2 q, Welchs Light 1/2 q pairs w/ their BOGO sale, and Teeter now has the Good N Natural Bars, FREE BAR w/ coupon!

My ZVR's worked...hopefully they're fixed...but still watch your receipt :)

In my Harris Teeter weekend specials, I got 100oz Tide for $10.97 (Saturday only). With $1.50 coupon from last P&G insert doubled and the $1.50 evic coupon, that makes it $6.47 if you're a Tide purist like me :-)

1) After Christmas Sales: Atlantic Lawn & Garden now has their holiday items at 75% off...trees, ornaments, picks, bows...classy stuff...some of these items would make great gifts for next year.

2) Teeter: check your ZVR's, there are new Campbells ones there!

Happy Shopping & Happy New Year, all!
