I went by my bank this afternoon and asked what the recommendation was for the Target Breach . My bank representative said since the 3 digit code on the back of debit and credit cards were part of the breached info, the best thing to do was to cancel all debit/credit cards used at Target and get new cards . Yes it is hassle but it is better than the larger hassle you will have if you were one of the compromised accounts .

MY COKE REWARDS REMINDER: You have until midnight tonight to enter your Diet Coke 12-pk codes to get double points.

Amomoftwo, I am so sorry that you were a victim of fraud through PayPal. I thought that was the whole point of PayPal -- to avoid having problems like that! :( I will be extra careful with it from now on. Thanks for the heads up and I hope your situation is ok now.

Target just posted a Cartwheel offer for 50% off Holiday Single Ornaments, but is valid only through tomorrow (December 21st).

    cartwheel.target.com

You can take advantage of a Cartwheel offer four times.

(If you don't have a smartphone, just add the offers you would like to your account, print the offer sheet, and the cashier can just scan the bar code.)

I just saw Diane's comments about her RED card....I was the victim of fraud through PayPal last Wednesday. I actually caught the unauthorized purchase within the hour it was made. Still had to go through the whole ordeal of fraud alerts, cancellation of my card, changing pins, waiting for the money to be credited to my account. I do have to say that Wells Fargo had excellent customer service in this situation. And I didn't know that you can get a replacement debit card immediately at the local bank. My real debit card arrived within 5 days. Still a pain....

I was in TJ Cary this afternoon, and they had huge, beautiful whole stalks of brussels sprouts for $2.49, which is a great price. Also nice red, yellow, and I think orange peppers for $1.19 each. I stocked up on gorgonzola for salad, and splurged on a bottle of Italian red wine for cooking for $4.99. I have no idea what type of red it is, but the name is Villa Cerrino Montepulciano D'Abruzzo. I've bought it before and it is as nice in spaghetti sauce as it is in beef stew or pot roast.

Those registered with Live Better America, make sure to check your e-mail for a link to a get a free sample of Food Should Taste Good Sweet Potato Chips. Like the Betty Crocker free sample e-mail earlier this week, the subject line of this e-mail does not reference the free sample.

The e-mail will come from LiveBetterAmerica@email.livebetteramerica.com and the subject line of the e-mail I received was "10 Comfort Foods You Can Feel Good About."

This offer is only available to the first 10,000 members and appears to only be available through the link in this e-mail.

I still haven't been able to get through to Target to cancel my REDCard with them and have them reissue a new one, but after many attempts on their website, was at least able to change my PIN on it through their REDCard Account Management section.

I'll be changing the PIN on my actual bank-issued debit card for the checking account that my Target REDCard debit card is linked to on Saturday. (They don't offer the option to do so online, and felt it wasn't necessary to actually cancel my bank debit card but just to keep an eye on my account for any suspicious activity, and they would be doing the same.) I also set up "alerts" for any purchases made with my bank's debit card, for the time being, as well.
