Re Target credit card issue: I thought it was just Target credit cards, but tonight abc news said that any credit card that you used at any Target store from Black Friday until 12/14/13 could have been compromised. This is really scary. I shop at Target all the time. I still cannot get in touch with my Target card, the phone is constantly busy, duh! Now, I'm worried about a few other cards I used there, too.

there was a "potential" credit card/debit card breach at target. It started on black Friday and went through 12/15/13. The Secret Service is investigating it.

I bought the 3/$10 Haagen Dazs today at HT and it gave me a free snapfish photobook (you have to spend $10). It says it's a $29 value and is a 8x8 with 20 pages and custom cover. I had gotten a coupon from Haagen Dazs last week telling me they were doing this, but didn't realize it was such a nice book. I was going to buy the ice creams anyways (treat for DH!) so it was a nice bonus :-)

Thank you for the run down on beef lean/fat ratios !
Do you find a difference with the breed of beef ?
Grinding at home with Kitchen Aide is the best - you know what you put in it and what comes out.

raesmom1612 - I also think you can probably use it at HT since Kmart sells groceries. Can;t hurt to try. :-)

Raesmom, I would think you could use the $10 coupon at HT since Kmart sells groceries?

Rebek, I think $4.69 is high, too. For the beef, generally ground chuck is about 75/25 to 80/20, ground round is 80/20 to 85/15, ground sirloin (sirloin tip roast would be in this category) is about 90/10. Not sure about the 93/7, except that for me, it is too lean to have much flavor.

My buy price for beef to be ground up is under $3. I usually buy a well-trimmed chuck roast and have that ground at the store, or I'll do it at home with the KitchenAid attachment on the stand mixer. Just my preference. If I can find chuck and sirloin on sale at the same time for a good price, I'll grind them up together, but that doesn't happen often.

DianeNC, I think there's a Lindt shop at Crabtree Valley Mall in Raleigh.

If you're a Betty Crocker member, check your e-mail for the chance to get a free sample of their Chicken Helper Crispy Cheddar Bacon with Cheesy Rotini. There is a limited quantity of 10,000 free samples, so act quick to get yours!

The e-mail subject line DOES NOT reference the free sample - the subject is, "Overnight Caramel Apple Rolls + Dinner in 30 Minutes (or less)"

The e-mail comes from the following address:

csilver910~the Kmart at 4300 Fayetteville Rd is closing and they told me to take this coupon to my new kmart which is the one on western blvd or it can be used online at kmart.com Im just not a real big kmart shopper....i suppose i could go online and find something that i can pick up in store (free) and get $10 worth of free products.....maybe a christmas gift? I would rather use it somewhere else though.

dpdunn: You can get a visa gift card for a $1.00 (when purchased in a branch) @ SECU with an amount from $20 up to $500. It can be used anywhere and I don't believe you have to be a member to purchase them. You can also purchase them online, but they are $2.50 for each card. Their website is www.ncsecu.org
