its not too late for the 1.00 off FRESH CRANBERRIES when you like them on facebook, Mmmmm Cranberry Apple Casserole

I can't tell you how much I hate chest freezers. Things get lost, things settle and freeze into shape with other things so you have to play Tetris to get stuff back in. If you're super organized, and living solo, a chest freezer might work for you. My husband and I have 5 kids, so a 20 cubic foot stand up freezer works much better for us. It takes up about the same amount of floor space as a small chest freezer and I can see everything in it.

As for deals, anyone looked at the Staples ad this week? Buy $100 prepaid Visa or MC (with $5.95 activation fee) and submit an Easy Rebate for a $15 Staples gift card ($9.05 Moneymaker per card). Limit is 10 between now and the end of next week. I'll be needing toner for my printer soon, and noone makes a generic for it. My cell phone and cable companies really don't care if I pay them with prepaid cards, as long as I pay them. :D

Mrs. Smith coupons are all gone! Got the smart balance ones! Thanks for posting them!

Faye,I'm wondering if you know someone in the Charlotte area that does the same thing you do for us? I have a friend who lives near there and she would love to get some help with coupon match ups, etc for add'l savings. I was talking to her recently and was bragging about all that you do. However, it sounded like her stores had different ads than we do here. Any help/suggestions are appreciated. Thanks for all that you do EVERYDAY. You are the BEST.

I've finally found a way to freeze milk that works well. I don't have room to freeze it in it's container, so I pour the milk into ice trays. I measured 1 oz in a shot glass then saw what level the milk came to in one cube, then filled the rest of the tray to that level. When it freezes, I put the cubes into freezer bags. Then I can take out 8oz i.e 8 cubes to make a cup of milk whenever I need it.

thesherman96 - those are great questions (about what things can be frozen and for how long.) I've wondered, myself, about things like butter, cream cheese, sour cream, milk, etc.

We have both kinds of freezer - I hate the chest freezer and love the upright. Stuff gets buried and lost in the chest freezer. Love the idea of organizing items inside by basket, wish I had thought of that before mine was full! The freezers are great because there are weeks we do not even go to a grocery store. If nothing is on sale then we are eating food that was on sale from the freezer and we can take advantage of the sales to stock up. I use large black perm magic markers to mark dates clearly so I will know when food went in the freezer at a glance. I fear that when my MIL dies and we have to clean out her freezers that we will find dinosaur steaks at the bottom...and it does not matter how much you saved if it never is eaten. Once every 3 months we eat everything from the freezer only for like two weeks so we can rotate food and make sure we use what we have. No "T Rex" burgers in my freezers...

Im also looking into getting a freezers soon. We (including my parents) have 3 upright freezers at their house in a barn. They are filled with fruits/veggies we put up from our garden, meat we buy on sale and coupon items I buy. After my last coupon trip my Dad said that we were out of room for coupon trips! So we are now looking into a freezers for our house. I like uprights better because they take less space, are easier to organize and pull from.

What items do you all freeze and for how long? I'm wanting to buy extras of items and freeze them but I'm not sure how long they will keep before flavoring. Things like milk, butter, sandwich meat, yogart, cream cheese, etc. This has been something I have pondered a while now. Thanks for your input!!!!!

Buy an upright freezer!!! lol I can't stand my chest freezer and was just looking at uprights this weekend. Chests are almost just as expensive as upright. My next freezer will be an upright.

smartbalance butter is free at HT with coupon from their website

cmh156: We have a chest that was purchased at Lowe's Home Improvement for around $175 by my mom. I separate all my items and put them in certain areas and we also got more baskets to use in the freezer (LOL...not sure if you are supposed to do that or not)and I have everything with big labels on it so it's easier to read and this system is working well for me...:)

CVS Advil coupon says it's no longer available. Gotta act REALLY fast...!! oh well!

I am totally in agreement with Faye. I am a household of one until Sunday dinners come along and then we grow to 14. I love my upright freezer- although I wish it was a tad bigger. With all the cpn savings I get, I am very fortunate to have mine full!!

I have had both types of freezers, cmh, and really like an upright. It is easier to find the food and easier to get to it. You may want to try Craigslist to find a good deal on a used freezer.

Thanks for the Advil info bklyn2raleigh!

I'm looking to buy a freezer to freeze all of the great bargains I'm getting thanks to Faye and all of you that comment here. But I'm not sure whether to get a chest or upright freezer. Any suggestions from those of you that already own a freezer? I'm a household of one.

tnjed - if you have to have the brand name Butterball, then it's an ok deal at .89/lb. If you are willing to use another brand, almost all of the grocery stores (HT, LF, FL, Kroger) have their turkeys on sale for .47/lb with additional purchase. That is the best deal you will probably find this Thanksgiving holiday.

tnjed: My thoughts on turkey. Butterball is a good turkey. If it is fresh (not frozen) .89 is a GOOD price. If it is frozen, then I'm one that says the no brand is just as good as brand. They all inject them with water/saline to pump up the weight and I've never been able to tell the difference once cooked. I brine mine and do other things to it before cooking anyway. @ .47 with only $25 order Kroger seems to have the best deal.

Thanks que and heazer....I think it is gone too. I don't see it anywhere. I appreciate you checking.

LAXMom: That was from coupons.com. It seems to be gone now. I don't find it under any of the "usual" zip codes....and it doesn't even show up at the end of my list as print limit reached. It's just gone!

$0.89/lb (with $35 minimum purchase on other items) for a Butterball turkey @ Lowes seems like a good deal. Can anyone confirm before this deal ends today? Thx.

LAXMom12: I printed a bunch of those on a couple of sites. Have you tried CommonKindness or Penny Pincher Gazzett? I don't remember where I printed mine. It was just last week.

I wanted to ask one more time before the sale goes off if anyone has seen the $1/2 Kraft cheese coupon anywhere. It hasn't been on coupons.com where I have looked. Thanks for your help.
