jdouglas, as Kathy mentioned, there are some very inexpensive online glasses retailers. I have heard good things about Zenni Optical, but have not yet used them. Here is the link to their website. They do make bifocals according to the FAQ page:

jdouglas, you might try online and see if you can find a place that can will be cheap enough. My husband uses but he has single vision lenses. Not sure of their prices for bifocals.

I knew the price could be high - paying for the qiuick turn round . I am Glad you got the coupons and discount . I will try to watch for the 1/2 sale (lenscrafters or other) - maybe you can take advantage of that deal when it rolls around to get "spares" .

Thanks everyone who helped out with our eyeglass drama for the day. We ended going to Lenscrafters in Cary. While they weren't cheap, they were having a 30% off sale, and took another $5 off for our AARP membership.

One of our goals this year is to get to a position where we can both get inexpensive backup glasses so we don't find ourselves having to pay such a high price for glasses because we need immediate turnaround.

losltp: LOL..."I get mostly ads that the cats shred!!!" Now that's funny!!! I can't imagine why they would shred the Directv ad :)

I lived on Buck Jones Road for a short time in college.
I live in a house now in a rural area just north of the Triangle .

I do not get the ads/coupons every week either - average twice a month maybe. I get mostly ads that the cats shred( aaron's rental, dish , directv, etc) - maybe one or two single coupons (shampoo, toilet paper ) the rest are a mix of resturants : chinese takeout ,papa johns, smithfield chicken & bbq - some more than 30 miles away !
Sometimes I think it depends on which mail person is on the route that week ( "good" one or "not so good" one). ( One used to to take my TV guide years ago until she figured out it was for Directv - it was never late again lol ).

DianeNC: I got those coupons for Burger King and the McDonald's coupon booklet last week. You are welcome to them if you want them, I can mail them tomorrow to you. I have your address :)

Not sure if this has been posted already, but for a real easy way to win yourself a free Snickers bar, head over to the Super Bowl Satisfaction portion of their Facebook page at Enter the contest, and basically, pretty much everyone is winning.

You'll receive a confirmation number, and it will take between 6-8 weeks to receive your Snickers in the mail.

    (Thanks to!)

losltp - you posted yesterday about some coupons for Burger King and a coupon booklet for McDonalds in the mail this week. I think I remember you posted once you're in downtown Cary - I'm right by there, but never got these. (Do you live in an apartment complex that gets the coupon inserts during the week? That might be it - for some reason, even though I rent, because it's not in an apartment complex, I never get the coupon inserts midweek.)
