The Johnston County Sheriff's Office has charged a registered sex offender with secret peeping after he allegedly captured photo or video images of two women at Walmart without their consent.

Kenneth Lawrence Dorn, 42, of Clayton, was arrested last week and placed in the Johnston County jail under a $25,000 bond. He appeared in court Monday on one count of felony secret peeping.

Dorn, who previously lived in Raleigh, has a long history of convictions on sex-related crimes.

According to state Department of Correction records, Dorn was convicted of indecent exposure and felony habitual misdemeanor assault charges five times in Wake County between 1995 and 2009. In that same time period, he was convicted three times on assault on a female, stalking and trespassing charges.

In July 2009, police arrested Dorn on sexual battery and habitual misdemeanor assault charges after he allegedly groped women while they shopped at a Harris Teeter and Walmart in Raleigh.

Days later, he was charged with felony habitual misdemeanor assault, misdemeanor sexual battery and indecent exposure in connection with two incidents in Apex – one at a park and another at a Target store.

I'd rather be charged with assault for hitting this guy than have my picture be used for this guys' extra-curricular activity.

"it is NOT illegal to take pictures of ANYBODY in a public place. consent or otherwise..."

WRONG. Walmart and Harris Teeter (to name the examples in the article) are PRIVATE property. Where does anybody get the idea that department stores, supermarkets, and/or shopping malls are PUBLIC spaces? Check the tax records at your local courthouse. Those properties are PRIVATELY OWNED.

You think you have the right to take my photo w/o my consent in any of these "public" places? You also shouldn't have any problem w/ me grabbing your cell phone and smashing it on the ground. Deal with that.

And quit sticking up for the sex offenders.

ProzacDispenser said: "get him the help he needs and everyone quit making fun of the situaiton."

Invite him to your house and give him a hug. Tell him that you will help him from his previous boo boos.

I'd punch this guy in the face if I saw him recording me or taking pictures... JennyB

And then you could be charged with assault.

Another example of our misguided unchecked run a muck society. Sex on the brain is learned behavior.
