Sex offender accused of peeping into woman's bedroom

Police believe that Brian Wayne Lewis, 37, secretly looked at a woman in her bedroom in a home on Shadetree Lane on Sept. 10, 2010, according to a arrest warrant.

Lewis was charged with misdemeanor secret peeping. He was given a $1,500 secured bond and scheduled to appear in court May 27.

Police did not know Lewis' address but think he has been living in Raleigh, according to the warrant. His last known address was at the Wake County Detention Annex at 3400 Hammond Drive in Raleigh, in June 2010, according to the North Carolina Sex Offenders Registry.

He was arrested on Sept. 12, 2010, on a misdemeanor indecent exposure charge after an 8-year-old girl said a man exposed himself to her in the children's section of the Barnes and Noble bookstore at Crabtree Valley Mall. At the time, he was listed as living in Boone.

Lewis was given five years' probation in 2008 after being convicted in New Hanover County of taking indecent liberties with a child and misdemeanor indecent exposure, according to arrest warrants. The victim was 14 years old, registry records show.

He has also been convicted twice of misdemeanor indecent exposure in Wake County.
