Sewage spill dumps 250,000 gallons in Johnston County

— North Carolina officials are investigating after a sewage spill of about 250,000 gallons in Johnston County.

The county said in a news release that the spill occurred Sunday.

The Johnston County Public Utilities Department said a break in a pipeline led to the spill. The untreated wastewater ran into Swift Creek.

The North Carolina Division of Water Resources is investigating the leak.

    Would be curious if anyone's testing all the wells in the local neighborhoods to see if they've been contaminated.
