According to state Highway Patrol investigators, the wreck happened at about 11:45 a.m. after a ball fell out of the back of a truck onto the highway and caused a chain reaction crash.

if you go to the wncn.com website and search for "7 taken to the hospital after accident on US 64", you will find more information. Based on various comments, one of the riders is in ICU and fighting for her life. Keeping her in my prayers.

Any update on this? From what WTVD said, there were 60 female motorcycle riders in this group behind this truck (WTVD did say it was a boat, that was being towed.) Last night they reported the one of the motorcyclist was in critical condition.
