Seven people were killed in six wrecks across North Carolina during the Memorial Day holiday weekend, the State Highway Patrol announced Tuesday.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Seven people were killed in six wrecks across North Carolina during the Memorial Day holiday weekend, the State Highway Patrol announced Tuesday.

The holiday weekend officially began at 6 p.m. Friday and ended at midnight on Monday, officials said.

In 2014, troopers investigated 20 fatal collisions and 349 collisions involving injuries during the same weekend.

None of the fatal wrecks in 2015 occurred in the Triangle.

The following is a breakdown of each fatality by highway, location and county:

N.C. 108, 1.5 miles east of Columbus – Polk County
N.C. 130, 6.2 miles west of Shallotte – Brunswick County
N.C. 130, 11.2 miles southeast of Whiteville – Columbus County
U.S. 17, 14.5 miles north of Wilmington – Pender County
N.C. 24/27, 6.9 miles northwest of Mt. Gilead – Montgomery County

Interstate 485, Pineville – Mecklenburg County

The wreck in Brunswick County resulted in two deaths, troopers said.
