Series of thefts from cars reported in Cary

— The Town of Cary issued a crime alert Monday, warning drivers of thefts from vehicles in the area of High House Road and Davis Drive.

Five car owners have reported items stolen from unlocked cars in the past week.

Police described the suspect as a white man between 15 and 18 years old with blond hair, standing about 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighing about 150 pounds.

Witnesses told police the suspect was carrying a book bag and may drive a red Geo Metro.

Police reminded drivers to lock cars when parked and to remove valuables from view.

    Leaving them on the hood of the car STILL doesn't give people the right to take my possessions. It is NOT my fault if someone steals from me.

    This is the 2nd or 3rd time people in Cary have reported car break-ins with in two months. Each time police said the cars and trucks were un- locked! Hello Cary, lock the door's to your cars duh.

    Wow! How did they get that much info on the perp? A decent search of DMV records could yield a decent list of suspects.
