Fayetteville, N.C. — Fayetteville fire crews battled two fires early Friday at homes east of downtown.
Crews responded to a vacant home in the 1700 block of Cardinal Circle at about 5:30 a.m. An hour later, they were called to a home in the 1100 block of Whiskerlake Way, about 3 miles away.
Three adults and one small child were displaced by the second blaze, which officials said started because of an electric space heater.
The Red Cross has been called to assist the family, officials said.
No injuries were reported in either fire, and officials did not release information about a possible cause of the blaze on Cardinal Circle.
