A Selma woman died Wednesday from injuries she suffered in a motorcycle accident, Clayton police said.

Kimberly Cockrell Lockhart, 40, of Buffalo Road, crashed Sunday on U.S. Highway 70 West Business near Regency Drive. She was taken by ambulance to WakeMed in Raleigh.

A preliminary investigation indicated the alcohol and excessive speed may have been factors in the crash, Clayton Police Officer Melissa Phillips said.
