Selma police seek murder suspect

A Selma man shot on Monday morning died of his injuries Friday and police upgraded the charges against the man who shot him to murder.

SELMA, N.C. — A Selma man shot on Monday morning died of his injuries Friday and police upgraded the charges against the man who shot him to murder.

Marquel Cardell Williams, 29, was shot as he exited his car on East Nobel Street just before 10:30 a.m., witnesses told WRAL News.

Police quickly identified Robert Lewis Jackson, 27, as the suspect and have been looking for him since. On Friday, they upgraded charges against Jackson to murder.
