SELMA, N.C. — Selma police are offering a reward for the safe return of their missing K-9, Jin, who disappeared from her handler's home late Saturday.

Police said they believe Jin escaped from her pen and was not stolen. She was last seen in her neighborhood, near her home on Rody Lane in the Pine Level city limits.

Jin is a black and tan German Shepherd weighing about 60 pounds. Although she is trained as a police K-9, she is not considered to be dangerous to the public, police said.

The police department is offering a $500 reward for her return. Anyone with information should call police at 919-965-8189 or dial 911.
