A 62-year-old man died Friday afternoon following a weather-related wreck involving two cars in Wendell, police confirmed Saturday.

WENDELL, N.C. — A 62-year-old man died Friday afternoon following a weather-related wreck involving two cars in Wendell, police confirmed Saturday. 

Stanley Thompson, of Selma, was driving near the intersection of Whitley Way and Wendell Boulevard about 2 p.m. when he hit another car, police said. 

Four other people involved in the wreck were taken to WakeMed. 

No other information about the cause of the wreck has been released.
