— Police on Thursday released three clips from a security video that they say shows a man they want to question in the shooting death of a Fort Bragg soldier outside a Fayetteville hotel last week.

Officers investigating reports of gunshots on Sept. 21 found the body of Pfc. Chad Patrick Dellit, 22, between two cars outside the Innkeeper Hotel, at 1720 Skibo Road. He had been shot in the head.

A nearby security camera showed a man in a white, long-sleeve shirt and dark pants in the parking lot about 45 minutes to an hour before the shooting and running from the area at about the same time someone called 911 to report the gunshots, police said.

Anyone who recognizes the man or remembers seeing a man wearing similar clothes on Sept. 21 is asked to call the Fayetteville Police Department at 910-587-3254 or Crime Stoppers at 910-483-TIPS (8477).

Dellit, of Fulton, Ill., was assigned to the 20th Engineer Brigade at Fort Bragg.

I've been seeing little white dots all day long. Of course, I did have a lot to drink last night.

Why would anyone be wearing a long sleeve shirt? Any jobs in that area that would require that?

He was a soldier so I am sure the Army C.I.D. has access to the same technology that NASA and the FBI do. Let's just hope there is enough there to work with so they catch this person

Hah. Welcome to the REAL WORLD people. You get to watching CSI and other fake crime shows and believe that security video is crystal clear, or that pixelated images can some how magically be "enhanced" and then you can see their face from across the parking lot. Watch a few episodes of the First 48 and you'll understand.

You think this may not help, but it very well could. There may be that ONE person who happened to see this man that night.

    Rest in peace, soldier.

I think NASA\FBI Needs to get involved they can enhance images. There maybe no hope for this cheep camera.

Oh, jokes aside, my thoughts and prayers go out to the family of the soldier killed. As a parent, you might be able to accept death in war but to die in a parkinglot next to base is unacceptable. I hope they catch the guy and give the family the justice they so deserve.

if they spent a few extra dollars on HR cameras, the pic would be ALOT clearer

if THIS is what we're supposed to use to help ID the person, it's NOT GONNA WORK!

I think the hotel needs to invest in better cameras. If the current cameras can't provide more detail than this, they can't be able to read a license plate number. What is the point?
