Second suspect arrested in Rocky Mount shooting

Charles Dickens was taken into custody Saturday. He faces two assault charges and was held on $25,000 bond. Raymond Neal was charged with accessory after the fact and held on $2,000 bond.

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. — Rocky Mount police have arrested a second suspect in a shooting that took place Friday.

A witness told officers they saw a Nissan Maxima stop on Planters Street Friday night. A man got out of the car, yelled at another man, then shot him and drove away, they said.

The victim, Demanchea Clevon Johnson, 22, was in Pitt County Memorial Hospital Saturday with a gunshot wound to the back of the head, police said.

Two men have been arrested.
