Second Phase of Fayetteville Loop Slated

Construction is scheduled to begin in late 2008 on another section of a loop highway around Fayetteville.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Construction is scheduled to begin in late 2008 on another section of a loop highway around Fayetteville.

The $200 million project will extend the highway from Ramsey Street to All American Freeway. The highway, which eventually will be know as Interstate 295, now runs from Interstate 95 south of Wade to Ramsey Street.

The project is expected to be let for bid next summer, with construction starting in November 2008. Construction is expected to last three years.
