Second person arrested in Fayetteville killing

Investigators have made a second arrest in connection with the killing of a 25-year-old man outside a Fayetteville house party.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Investigators have made a second arrest in connection with the killing of a 25-year-old man outside a Fayetteville house party.

Matthew Emmanuel Brown, 23, of the 1300 block of Stateworth Drive in Durham, was apprehended by the US Marshals Fugitive Task Force. He is charged with first-degree murder in the death of Leandre Jamarcus Leguerre.

Laguerre’s body was found outside a home on the 600 block of Wagon Wheel Court on June 7 after reports of gunfire. Clevaun Breece, 21, and Kenneth Burch, 24, were injured during the incident.

Demario Deshawn Eastmon, of the 3500 block of Worley Street, was arrested June 10 and charged with first-degree murder and assault with a deadly weapon.

Brown and Eastmon remained in the Cumberland County jail Monday under no bond.
