Second man charged in Fayetteville shooting death

Police have arrested a second man in connection with a shooting death of a Fayetteville man nearly a month ago.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Police have arrested a second man in connection with a shooting death of a Fayetteville man nearly a month ago.

George Kennard Wells Jr. 23, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder on Thursday. 

Fayetteville officers responding to calls about a shooting near the intersection of Italy Street and Cheer Lane on Nov. 29 found Maurice Daquan Patterson dead from a gunshot wound.

Last week, Daquane Altonique Israel, 21, was arrested in the case. He faces charges of first-degree murder and discharging a weapon into an occupied dwelling. 

Investigators haven't released any information about a possible motive in the shooting or what evidence links either man to the crime.
