Second man charged in fatal Goldsboro shooting

Goldsboro police on Thursday issued an arrest warrant for a second man they think was involved with an October shooting death at a home on Olivia Lane.

GOLDSBORO, N.C. — Goldsboro police on Thursday issued an arrest warrant for a second man they think was involved with an October shooting death at a home on Devereaux Street. 

Lester Clinton, Jr., 29, is charged with murder in the shooting death of Alton Leevon Fields, Jr., who was killed at about 1 a.m. on Oct. 15. Goldsboro police were seeking the public's help Friday to locate Clinton.

Investigators have also charged James D'Angelo Raye, 27, in the case. Officers arrested Raye, of Mount Olive, Thursday after responding to a domestic dispute call at a home on Olivia Lane. 

He is charged with murder in the Oct. 15 shooting and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, carrying a concealed weapon and second-degree trespassing. 

Raye was in the Wayne County jail Friday. He is scheduled to make a first court appearance on Nov. 18.
