Second man charged in fatal Fayetteville shooting

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A second man was arrested Thursday in connection with the Sunday morning shooting that killed one and wounded another.

Thomas Jaleel McCants-Page, 24, of the 2100 block of Hyde Place in Fayetteville was charged with accessory after the fact to first-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Russell McCants-McGill, of the 5800 block of Aftonshire Drive, was charged Monday with first-degree murder, shooting into an occupied dwelling, assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and possession of a firearm by a felon.

According to police, McCants-McGill shot Ronald Potts, 47, of Selma and another person in the early morning hours Sunday at a home on Rim Road.

McCants-Page was being held at the Cumberland County Detention Center under $600,000 secured bond. Mccants-McGill was being held without bond.
