— The Halifax County sheriff's office announced Monday that the second man wanted in connection with a fatal home invasion outside Roanoke Rapids on Jan. 22 has been captured.

A Crime Stoppers tip led authorities to Raleigh, where they arrested Brandon Watson without incident. Authorities arrested another man, Lester Kearney, on Jan. 23.

Kearney and Watson are accused of breaking into a home on Ward Drive and shooting three men, according to Maj. Bruce Temple, with the sheriff's office.

Antonio Jerold Mills, 29, was shot repeatedly and died of his injuries. More details of the case, including a motive and the names of the other victims, haven't been released.

    the death penalty

Not a death penalty case. Otherwise it would and should be life.

20 years would be good in this case.

I hope this case is eligible for the death penalty, and if so I hope the victim's family asks for the D.A. to pursue it.

Glad to see these two off the streets before more ended up dead. Also glad to see someone using Crimestoppers as you are totally anonymous.....your meny/check is issued using a code and they don't ask you for your ID...you just have to know the code you were assigned when you left your tip. You get paid to turn in these criminals folks, so more need to do the same!!!
