Second man arrested in east Durham shooting

Durham, N.C. — A second man wanted in connection with a shooting that sent a 36-year-old man to the hospital May 7 was arrested Tuesday morning after a brief foot chase, Durham police said.
Tyrico Bowens, 19, of Durham, is charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and kidnapping. He was taken into custody on Dale Street.
According to investigators, Bowens and Jarrion Hood, 17, also of Durham, approached a man in the 800 block of Eva Street about 8:30 p.m. and shot him.
The man's name has not been released, but he was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries, police said.
Hood was arrested Friday and taken to the Durham County jail, where he was placed under a $5 million bond. Bowens' bond information was not released.
