Seasonal produce for April

Every spring is a fresh start for the trees, the grass, the flowers and my favorite: the garden! As we welcome the warmer temperatures, we also receive a fabulous bounty of frugal spring vegetables and fruits. Here is a list of seasonal produce to look for at the farm stands and grocery stores in April.

I always look forward to the great deals on asparagus, strawberries, and more in April and May!

You'll also find good deals on oranges in the grocery store, even though they are not grown locally.

Are you growing a garden this year? My youngest daughter and I planted herb seeds last week including sweet basil, cilantro and mint. The veggie planting starts soon!
