FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office was searching Monday for a 69-year-old man whose truck was found parked on the roadside with its hazard lights on.

Roy Haddock was last seen by family members around 8:30 a.m. His son-in-law spotted his gray Toyota pickup truck Monday afternoon parked along McCormick Bridge Road, but Haddock was nowhere to be found.

His family says he often went to McCormick Bridge to feed homeless animals that live on the river bank.

Haddock has a heart condition, his family says, and it's very unusual for him not to return home. He is white, with salt-and-pepper hair and brown eyes. He is 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighs about 130 pounds and wears glasses.

Authorities said there have been no signs of foul play in Haddock's disappearance. Dive teams are assisting in the search.

Anyone with information is asked to call deputies at 910-323-1500.
