Scrap Exchange launches new preschool program

The Scrap Exchange in Durham has a new program for preschoolers.

Preschool Artplay runs monthly and is designed for kids ages 2 to 6 and their parents. During each session, art activities will focus on a specific type of material that may include fibers, paints, or paper, according to a description. There also will be stories, finger plays, and songs related to the materials theme.

Wendy Ziegler, education coordinator who developed the program and leads it, tells me that she hopes to grow Preschool Artplay into a regular offering for preschoolers this fall.

It's 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., June 24 and July 22. The cost is $15 per participant. Registration is suggested (and I hear that the June program is nearly full).
