Download the new McDonald's app and get a FREE sandwich with any purchase!

* Smartphone users in the Triangle and Sandhills area can now download the new McDonald's Global Mobile App.

* The app can be downloaded from the Apple App Store, Google Play marketplace by searching “McDonald’s Mobile App”, or by scanning the QR code on merchandising materials posted in participating McDonald’s restaurants.

* Once you download the app, you will receive an offer for one free large sandwich with any purchase.  It took about 24 hours for the free digital coupon to come through on the app. The coupon is valid through 5/31/15 so you have plenty of time to use it.

* To redeem, just go to your McDonald's store, open the app, click on the offer and show it to the cashier.

I also received a number of other offers including free medium fries with any purchase, free breakfast sandwich with purchase of a medium McCafe Expresso beverage, any premium McWrap for $2.00 and more.

The Triangle and Sandhills area is one of only a couple markets in the nation testing the new mobile app. The Global Mobile app uses a geo-targeting feature that locates the closest restaurant to the user and then provides special menu offers and information redeemable at that specific location. The app also lets users search McDonald’s career opportunities and review the latest menu offerings (including nutritional information).  Coupons and special offers are just the beginning as additional functionalities like mobile ordering and payment is planned to roll out in 2015.
