Scissors-wielding man robs Mebane credit union

A man carrying a pair of scissors robbed a State Employees Credit Union branch in Mebane on Tuesday, police said.

MEBANE, N.C. — A man carrying a pair of scissors robbed a State Employees Credit Union branch in Mebane on Tuesday, police said.

The man walked into the SECU at 1900 N.C. Highway 119 South shortly before 12:30 p.m., demanded money and fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. No one was injured.

The robber was described as black, in his mid to late 40s, about 6 feet tall and 230 to 240 pounds. He was wearing a blue New England Patriots knit hat and a black hooded sweatshirt.
