RALEIGH, N.C. — Ever wonder about the miracle that is chocolate? How did humans discover the sweet stuff, and how has it evolved?

Dean Ogan, owner of Rocky Top Hospitality, will answer those questions and more Thursday at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences in downtown Raleigh. Ogan is part of the museum's Science Talks series.

Thursday at 7 p.m., he explores the history of chocolate from the ancient world to modern manufacturing methods, and shares what science knows about one of the world's favorite sweets.

Videri Chocolate Factory of Raleigh will offer samples.

The talk, in the museum's Daily Planet Cafe, is free, as is museum admission.
