Thanks so much, Mothar1 and SarahOconnor! This is really helpful, and some great ideas!

I still have a lot of stuff leftover from his elementary school days, which I figured I could donate to a local school. I just can turn down the most awesome of the sales!

    Thanks again!

senglish27529, my daughter just started middle school. She needed blue and red pens, several 1 inch binders, colored pencils, graph paper, college ruled filler paper, binder dividers, regular pencils, pencil pouch, index cards, post-it notes, scissors, and highlighters. Hope that helps!

Stephanie, I do the same thing for my grandson, and I'm in the same boat, I never know what he needs, so I try to always grab the Office Max 1 cent deals because I'm not out that much money and figure I can always donate or save until he gets older, and then I also try to google by for example "clayton NC school supply lists" and you can get a pretty good idea going from that I think, seeing if the same things show up over and over. Or maybe just call the school?

I need a little help here from my fellow Smart Shoppers. I try to provide my grandson's school supplies each year, since I'm closer to the great retail deals than he is. This year, though, he'll be in middle school, and I'm having a terrible time trying to find out what he actually "needs" this year. His orientation isn't until August 23, which means I'll be scrambling at the last minute, and we all know how disastrous that can be!

Any advice? He's in Johnston Co.

    Thanks!

    Stephanie
