    Same here, jdouglas!

And we *never* were asked to provide supplies for the communal use of the class, either. OR things like tissues.

As I say quite often these days, it was a simpler time........

    :-)

What a great list! Things sure are different now than when I was in school. No supply lists back then other than to have something to write on and something to write with. We weren't allowed to listen to our transistor radios inside school at all!! LOL ;)

claytonsaver - I am so glad the Office Depot associate was on top of things. And I hope you have a great school year!

Stephanie - That's interesting that they include headphones on the list for the middle schoolers. In the high school, many teachers have listening contracts and the kids can listen to music on their smartphones (with headphones) while doing work alone at their desks.

Last week I asked here for help (what a middle schooler needs in the way of supplies), and received a couple of great helpful responses. I wanted to let those folks know that I finally got the real supply list from my grandson's school a couple of days ago. Yay!

The only thing on his list that's really out of the ordinary is ear buds or headphones. I know he already has several at home, for his video games and tablets and such, but he'll also need a set for school. Since he'll be here this weekend, I plan to ask him which he prefers for school, and then we'll figure out if we really need to find him something that's reasonable yet inexpensive.

Again, thanks for your help, fellow frugal shoppers!

    Great list Faye!
I went to Office Depot/Max this am and the associate told me right away which items were not available. There was one more he said was sown to be in inventory but not on the shelves. Still lots of other deals and I appreciated the heads up.
I am a teacher and got the tote bag and the VIP card which is good for 20% off (some exceptions, but none that would affect me) and the card is good until 10/31/2016. I also had a 25% off card (same exceptions as the VIP) which I had received in the mail.

ctya- I bet they appreciate the heads up!

Thanks, I didn't know these stores took coupons.
I plan to donate some supplies and this list will help a lot. I told the ladies not to wait so late next year if the group choose to a school supply drive.
That's the couponer in me LOL
