School plans autism, ADHD, sensory processing disorder discussion

Pinewood Montessori School in Hillsborough will hold a special public program this month about autism, ADHD and sensory processing disorder.

Beyond the Label: Developmental Differences in ADHD, Autism and Sensory Processing Disorder is 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., April 23, at the school. The program will feature three local experts who will talk about the field of child behavioral development in a panel discussion.

Their presentations will include discussions about what are the developmental milestones and warning signs; who are the professional resources and what do they do; what are the treatment options; and what are the pros and cons of a diagnosis.

A Q&A session will follow. Childcare will be provided. The event is free, but registration is required. Pinewood is located at 109 Millstone Dr., Hillsborough.
