"They just sit on the side of the road talking to each other-" - Thought - So TRUE. I drive home down either Old Stage Road or Hwy 42 depending on the traffic and WITHOUT fail there are usually one or two Wake Co. deputies sitting in the church parking lot on Old Stage right near the intersection with Hwy. 42 or on 42 in the church lot near the traffic light with Hiltop Needmore. EXCELLENT use of taxpayers dollars to have those cars just sitting and not patroling!

They just sit on the side of the road talking to each other-
    thought

Exactly!!! Or at the Kangaroo, flirting with the cashier pretending to drink coffee, when they should be on the roads and highways and the street watching out for criminals. With the cell-phones today, people should start observing these cops and if they are not doing their job, snap a picture and send it to their chief of police. He/she will be interested in seeing that.

People drive too fast everywhere here. School zones are too high. Speed should be no more than 25mph. I am sad that after all the news lately of speeding- people have not slowed down. What is it going to take? I know police here do not stop speeders or tailgaters- They just sit on the side of the road talking to each other-

officer that is speeding (58 in 55 is speeding) on possibky icy roads hits a pedestrian

The officer should not be speeding in certain conditions. I believe you already knew that and call yourself challenging me. Did not work.

Journey985...Of course anyone that hits a guard should be charge. That showed they were not paying attention. You point again.....

So wildcat, if an officer that is speeding (58 in 55 is speeding) on possibky icy roads hits a pedestrian then the pedestrian is cited for impeeding traffic, but a NON LEO hits a crossing guard the driver should be cited...Wow, talk about darned if you do and darned if you don't!!

  • wildcat Jan 28, 2011

Of course the driver should be charged. I imagine there was a speed limit there and the guard was there for a purpose. If the driver is not charge then the gurard should sue. I do hope and pray that in time she will be fine.

"The report of a school police officer shot last week touched off one of the largest Los Angeles-area manhunts in recent memory and forced thousands of students to remain in their classrooms for hours as officers searched for the attacker." - Now the officer has been arrested for what??? oh yeah..LYING!!!! When is society going to learn that LEO's can only be trusted if there is oversight by another group..people, this happens ALL the time (the lying part). Wake up and smell reality!

  • Journey985 Jan 28, 2011

The crossing guard was imopeeding traffic, cite the crossing guard!!! Oh wait, that only happens if it is a LEO that does the hitting, my bad. The obvious cover-up happening in Raleigh for this officer is an embarrassment!! he should be ticketed and put on administative leave.

How much do you want to bet they will cite the driver this time?
