ANGIER, N.C. — Four students aboard a school bus and a driver of an SUV were taken to a local hospital Thursday following a collision of the two vehicles, a Johnston County schools spokeswoman Terri Sessoms said.

None of the students suffered serious injuries, she said. They were treated at WakeMed Hospital.  The bus driver was also taken to Wake Med as a precaution. All were released Thursday night.

Sessoms had no information about the condition of the SUV driver.

Sessoms said Bus 94 had just left McGee's Crossroads Elementary School when the wreck occurred at the intersection of N.C. Highway 210 and N.C. Highway 50 in Johnston County.

The North Carolina Highway Patrol was still investigating, and further details about the wreck, including possible charges, were not immediately available.

Sessoms said other students were also on the bus at the time. They returned to the school, and their parents were called to pick them up.
