School bus crash reported in Durham

— A school bus hit a pole in Durham Tuesday morning while the driver was trying to make a U-turn, police said.

It happened near the intersection of Cleveland Street and Gray Avenue.

One child was on the bus, according to Durham police. The child was unhurt.

The bus had the words "North Durham" on its side and carried No. 439.

No other details were available from police or Durham school officials.

    Calling this a "crash" in the headline was about as accurate as comparing a goldfish to a submarine. They'll do anything to draw readers or to raise a stir.

    it looks like the bus could have easily pulled into the parking lot to make a U-turn. Why do it in the middle of the road?
