School bookkeeper charged with embezzlement

— A bookkeeper at a Wayne County elementary school was arrested Thursday and charged with stealing from the school, police said Friday.

Bridgette Brown James was charged with embezzlement. Police said she stole more than $1,000 from Carver Heights Elementary School.

    I don't think it is fair to group all bookkeepers as corrupt. There are many hard working, very fair, and upstanding bookkeepers we just don't hear about them because they are not newsworthy. She should be punished but don't assume that all are deceitful.

    All of us bookkeepers arent corrupt :) . I guess we now know why kids in Wayne county have to buy their grades LOL
