Scattered showers, storms possible on muggy Saturday
An upper-level disturbance will push through central North Carolina on the first day of the weekend, mixing with warm, muggy air to produce afternoon showers and thunderstorms.

Scattered showers could pop up throughout the day, but rain chances will increase to 50 percent during the afternoon as high temperatures climb into the mid-80s.
The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Cumberland County until 6:15 p.m.
Cooler, drier air will begin moving in overnight, WRAL meteorologist Mike Moss said, setting up a pleasant Sunday.
"We'll be dry on Sunday, and highs will be much cooler, only hitting the low 80s," he said.
Temperatures will remain mild early in the work week, hovering in the low-to mid-80s until at least Wednesday.
