SBI, State Bureau of Investigation

— The State Bureau of Investigation is looking into an incident involving a woman who drove her car into Jordan Lake over the weekend.

SBI officials said they are investigating whether the mother deliberately drove into the water with her 5-year-old son in the car at the time.

The woman reportedly drove off the Seaforth Boat Ramp on Jordan Lake. When emergency workers arrived, they said both the mother and child were safely on land.

The woman and her son were taken to a local hospital, but their status was unknown.

No charges have been filed.

I have to agree. If she meant to do it, she would have tried to stay in the car or would have left him in the car.

Just a guess, but if they were already out of the car and safe on land before emergency workers got there, she probably didn't intend to put her car in the lake.
