— The State Bureau of Investigation is looking into allegations of prescription drug fraud against a state Highway Patrol trooper, authorities said Monday.

First Sgt. Tim Baldwin is on administrative duty, pending the results of the investigation, authorities said. He joined the patrol in 1992 and is based in its Lillington office.

Jennifer Canada, a spokeswoman for the North Carolina Department of Justice, said Sanford police asked the SBI last month to investigate possible "doctor shopping" by Baldwin.

This story needs more facts before passing judgement. This is kind of thin that someone prefers a different doctor or two. I have been in that boat myself and I sure don t have a drug problem. Could this possibly be a suttle case of spite?

Does Rupert Murdoch own WRAL? This looks like his style of "journalism".

My tax dollars do not pay the employees of the other professions, MRCROSBYS:

How do you get to pick which public agency your tax dollars go to? How many of your tax dollars went to General Motors? Or Chrysler? Or the many banking operations we bailed out? But your money did not go there I assume? Bottom line here is WRAL is reporting a story before it is even a story. It could become a story but at this point it is not a news worthy story.
