Posted September 19, 2014

The SavingStar.com Friday Freebie offer for this week is Mike and Ike Chewy Fruit Flavored Candies, 5 oz. box! You'll also find new offers for Frank's Red Hot Sauce, Glade products, Starbucks Iced Coffee, Isabel Tuna & Reddi-wip! Check back every Friday for a new freebie.

The Mike and Ike candy offer is valid for 100% cash back on the 5 oz. size.  You have until 9/21/14 to buy this item.

You can load the offers to your SavingStar.com account. One time use only.

And remember, you have until 9/15 to get 20% cash back on your avocado purchase at participating stores with SavingStar.com.

New to SavingStar? Here is how it works:

SavingStar.com allows you to register your store reward cards and then load digital coupons to your store reward card. What is unique about this program is that the coupon discount does not come off at the register. The savings are added to your SavingStar account and when it reaches $5, you can cash the savings in for a gift card. You can choose to receive an Amazon gift card, have the money deposited into your Paypal account or checking account or donate it to AmericanForests.org.

When you sign up for the program, you will enter the reward card numbers for the reward cards you wish to register. Then, they will automatically link the eCoupons you select to all of your cards. Participating stores in our area include CVS, Rite Aid, Harris Teeter, Lowes Foods, Food Lion Walgreens, Walmart, Target, Family Dollar and Kroger.  With some of the stores they have added recently (Target, Walmart, Walgreens and Family Dollar), you will need to scan the product barcode and take a photo of the receipt through their app and submit it to get your cash back. They have iPhone and Android apps available.

According to the SavingStar.com website, new coupons will become available at the first of every month. Savings will usually show up in your account between 2 days and 2 weeks depending on how long it takes the stores to give SavingStar the information. These coupons will not double. Although it does not say on the site, you should be able to use paper coupons with no issue in addition to these SavingStar.com coupons.  See more details and sign up at SavingStar.com.

TJ84 - great question. HT is saying no for now. They are sticking with the same no-scan required method at this time. Who knows what will happen in the coming months. And I hope you were having fun out of town last week! :-)

Thanks Faye, I was out of town so didn't see the post. Do you think since Kroger bought Harris Teeter that we will have to scan the Harris Teeter receipts to get the cash back? On savingstar.com it listed other Kroger stores but not Harris Teeter.

TJ84 - A number of people were excited when we posted about the new Kroger processing method last week because they have not been getting their Kroger cash back offers on a regular basis. Some were not so happy because it will require an extra step of receipt submission. I do think it will be nice for folks with no Smartphone, though. Glad it will help you!

Faye, I was just on savingstar's website and looked at their FAQ's and this was one of the questions:Can I submit receipts without a smartphone?

Starting October 1, you’ll be able to submit receipts via the SavingStar website. Until then, we are currently accepting receipts via our mobile SavingStar app for iPhone and Android.

Thank goodness cause my smartphone is not that smart!
Also Kroger is changing the way the receipts are being processed.
